During the production of wood chip fiberboard, the friction between wood chip fibers and the conveyor belt or between the conveyor belt and the slider bed can easily cause the accumulation of electric charges and generate electrostatic effects. Although the quiescent current is usually very low in intensity, it can be the cause of problems, such as the appearance of poor-quality products due to adsorption of dirt, or sparks in sensitive environments that can cause fires or explosions.
Through close cooperation with leading wood-based panel machinery manufacturers, suppliers and industry experts, PFM Screen has developed conductive deaeration conveyor belts woven from synthetic fibers (usually polyester) and combined with antistatic carbon or bronze wires. This newest deaeration belt has proven its performance as a robust, universal deaeration belt for both particleboard and MDF.
